Comprehensive Harm Reduction Services To Female Injecting Drug Users

Naya Goreto (NG) signed a contract with United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) on 31st December 2010 for implementing the Project "Comprehensive Harm Reduction Services to Female Injecting Drug Users". The duration of the project is for one year which was commenced on 1st January 2011 and will end on 15 December 2011. The project will be implemented in Kathmandu District and Sunsari by a NGO working for the welfare of Female Injecting Drug Users, Dristi Nepal in close supervision of Naya Goreto. The main objective of the project is to provide services to the female drug users through the establishment of a DROP IN CENTER so as to prevent them from transmitting HIV and other blood borne diseases. The project intends to make the harm reduction services easy and accessible especially focusing towards female drug users as well as to build the capacities of the female drug users so that they are empowered and can sustain their lives themselves.
